CLEVELAND BROWNS
BALTIMORE RAVENS
PITTSBURGH STEELERS
CINCINNATI BENGALS
Cleveland Browns (0-1)
In a tight battle with the Chiefs, the Browns almost managed to outscore the defending AFC Champs, losing 33-29 with all 4 TDs coming from the ground.
NOTABLE PERFORMANCES: Nick Chubb, Jarvis Landry, Kareem Hunt
PLAYERS I LOVE
Nick Chubb
~ 22.1 PPR
~ 15-83, 2 TDs, 5.5 YPC
~ 6/9 Redzone Touches
~ 2/2 18 YDs Rec
- Next 3 opponents are
- HOU who allowed 8.4 and 7.8 points to the combo of James Robinson and Carlos Hyde
- CHI who allowed 15.7 points to Darrell Henderson
- MIN who allowed 25 points to Joe Mixon
Jarvis Landry
~ 19.4 PPR
~ 5/5 71 YDs
~ 0 Redzone Targets
~ 2-13 YDs rushing, 1 TD
- Jarvis will continue to be an important part of this offense but with a lack of volume and Redzone targets, he will at most be a consistent WR3 option. Jarvis averaged 12.3 PPG in 14 games last season (7 games without Odell)
Kareem Hunt
~ 17.1 PPR
~ 6-33 1 TD 5.5 YPC
~ 3/9 Redzone Touches
~ 3/3 28 YDs Rec
- Kareem will continue to be involved in both the passing game and will see his share in the Redzone which makes him a great RB2 option.
PLAYERS TO FADE
Baker Mayfield
~ 12.64 Fantasy Points
~ 21/28 321 1INT
~ 2/2 in Redzone 0 TDs
- Baker averaged 15.56 PPG in 2020
- In his first week where the Browns almost outscored the defending AFC Champs, Baker had 12.64.
- This team will continue to be a great football team down the stretch but, it has been solidified that this is a run-first team.
David Njoku
~ 10.6 PPR
~ 3/5 76 YDs
~ 1/1 in Redzone
~ 25.33 YPC
- David Njoku averaged just 4.9 PPG in 10 games in 2020
- Another player to Fade is Austin Hooper ~ 5.7 PPR. Both players have been in an inconsistent timeshare since last year. Hooper averaged 8.3 PPG in 12 games last year.
- Until a full-time promotion happens to one of these TEs I will continue to fade.
BALTIMORE RAVENS (0-1)
In an overtime thriller where both teams were on a constant roller coaster ride, the Ravens lost TWICE to the Raiders losing 33-27.
NOTABLE PERFORMANCES: Ty’Son Williams, Marquise Brown, Sammy Watkins
PLAYERS I LOVE
Ty’Son Williams
~ 18.4 PPR
~ 9-65 1 TD 7.22 YPC
~ 1/4 Redzone Touches
~ 3/4 29 YDs REC
- In Williams first game ever he put up a 7.22 YPC
- For example, JK Dobbins had an NFL record 6.0 YPC for an RB in 2020 and had 2 games in 2020 where he had over 7.22 YPC.
- Ty’Son Williams got his first one in his first-ever game.
- Ty’Son is a talented RB but his blocking mishaps cost him snaps in Week 1
- Keep an eye out for the Ravens moving RBs around but for now, be confident in starting Ty’Son as your RB2.
Marquise Brown
~ 19.4 PPR
~ 6/6 69 YDs
~ 1/1 10 YDs 1 TD in Redzone
~ 11.5 YPC
~ 1/1 Rushing 5 YDs
- Brown looked impressive in the season opener as he caught every pass thrown his way.
- Brown had multiple instances where he needed to get open for a scrambling Lamar and one resulted in a TD.
- Lamar clearly trusts Brown and is his favorite target with this newly branded offensive roster
- A run-first Ravens team abandoned the run late and Brown profited.
- With a tough rushing schedule coming up I would be confident in having Hollywood Brown as my WR3
PLAYERS TO FADE
No one. The Ravens offense will still be highly productive with Lamar healthy and I want every piece of it I can get. Hollywood, Lamar, and Ty’Son are all on the brink of starting without question every week with a close eye on Brown. Andrews, Watkins, and Murray would help me stream week to week and be pocketed for deep value.
PITTSBURGH STEELERS (1-0)
The underdog Steelers outperformed the Bills in all aspects of the game and won 23-16 in a close battle.
NOTABLE PERFORMANCES: Diontae Johnson and Najee Harris
PLAYERS I LOVE
Diontae Johnson
~ 14.6 PPR
~ 5/10 36 YDs 1 TD
~ 2/2 15 YDs 1 TD in Redzone
~ 7.2 YPC
- Diontae is the #1 WR in Pittsburgh and continues to prove it through targets
- Diontae averaged 14.9 PPG in 2020 and it looks consistent after week 1
- If we can see a healthy Diontae for 17 games this year that would be amazing
Najee Harris
~ 5.9 PPR
~ 16-45 2.81 YPC
~ 3/3 Redzone Touches
~ 1/3 4 YDs REC
- Use this game as an opportunity to buy low on Harris now
- Against a playoff-caliber team, the Steelers stuck to the run game and he saw all of the Redzone touches for the team.
- Steelers have a very easy schedule for RBs coming up for ROS
- PFF ranked the Steelers 31 out of 32 for the offensive line. DON’T WORRY. Look at division rival Mixon and ask him if an offensive line has ever mattered. The important thing is volume. It’s there and they are committed to making harris work.
- I wouldn’t be confident in Harris as my RB1 now but I do love him as an RB2 especially when I can buy low at a more reasonable value.
PLAYERS TO FADE
Eric Ebron
~ 2.9 PPR
Pat Freiermuth
~ 3.4 PPR
- Combined both TEs saw 3 targets on Sunday
- 1 Redzone target between both of them
- I would not be confident having either TE as my starter. If one of these TEs earns a promotion I would be interested in streaming week to week.
CINCINNATI BENGALS (1-0)
NOTABLE PERFORMANCES: Joe Mixon, Ja’Marr Chase, Tee Higgins
PLAYERS I LOVE
Joe Mixon
~ 25 PPR
~ 29-127 1 TD 4.38 YPC
~ 3/3 Redzone touches
~ 4/4 23 YDs REC
- Is this the Joe Mixon everyone drafted in the 2nd round?
- Joe Mixon continues to prove that the offensive line will not hinder his output
- Mixon averaged 16.6 PPG in 6 games last season
- I would be very confident in having Joe Mixon as my RB1
- No clear set #2 RB role in offense (Perine 5 Carries)
Tee Higgins
~ 15.8 PPR
~ 4/5 58 YDs 1 TD
~ 2/2 Redzone Targets
~ 14.5 YPC
- Higgins was only out targeted by Chase in the season opener
- Higgins will still be the #1 WR on the Bengals for ROS
- EVERY Redzone target for the team
- Led team in YDs and TDs for WRs and had 2 less TAR than Boyd
- Healthy Joe Burrow should increase completion percentage with Higgins
PLAYERS TO FADE
C.J. Uzomah
~ 5.5 PPR
~ 2/2 35 YDs
~ No Redzone targets
- 71 Targets to TEs last year on pace for 32 this year
- Bengals have not found a TE that they like and when a team streams TEs you stay away from TEs
- I would not be confident in streaming Uzomah this season
Ja’Marr Chase & Tyler Boyd
- DON’T FADE THESE GUYS
- Just wanted to point out that these guys have proven they are role players in this offense and until I see some consistency in what their role is, I will stay away.
- I would be confident in both WRs as WR3
- I wouldn’t be confident in these WRs if they were my WR2
