The Drop Zone – Week 10 Droppable Players

Well, it’s time. It’s time to drop that player you drafted thinking he’d be the guy. It’s been two weeks and you need a solid bench player that is actually seeing opportunities in games.

Shake off the dead weight and make the most of your bench. Do you drop them or do you hold on to them? Is their usage dropping as the weeks go on? Every week I’ll be highlighting some players who are either losing opportunities on offense or are underperforming based on their roster percentage.

This can be used as a helpful way to decide on some players you can drop to waivers for the hot new items on the market. Maybe you’re on the fence about a bench player and seeing his name on this list will help you make that final decision!

I will only mention players with over 35% roster percentage because you can’t drop who you don’t have.

Let’s do this!

Robby Anderson – 56.9% Roster Percentage

Yuck. This certainly seems to be a Sam Darnold issue more than it is a Robby Anderson issue, but either way it’s gross. Unless something drastically changes, like a new QB signing in Carolina, I have no confidence rostering Anderson in my leagues. Zero points last week, 1.2 points this week and a total of four targets between the two weeks. It’s not looking good and I think he’ll be fine on the wire.

Mike Davis – 74%

I’m not entirely sure there’s a lot of upside in this offense for Mike Davis. This offense is now owned and operated by RB/WR Cordarelle Patterson and that’s not going to change any time soon. Davis saw his lowest snap% of the season and just nine rush attempts. I wouldn’t mind holsing on to Davis because the RB landscape is SO thin this time of year, but I also wouldn’t mind dropping Davis for another RB (Devonta Freeman, Jordan Howard).

Mecole Hardman – 53%

It happens every year. There’s a somewhat solid game by a WR not named Tyreek Hill on the Chiefs offense and that player is gobbled up on waivers the following week, just to supremely underperform. Whether it’s Sammy Watkins, Demarcus Robinson, Byron Pringle or your neighbor Greg – you can’t rely on a KC WR2. Feel free to drop Hardman this week.

Drop Zone Returnees – Players I am STILL dropping

Jonnu Smith – Two targets in both of the last two weeks. Yuck.

Kenneth Gainwell – He scored a touchdown this week and still only had 6.3 fantasy points.
