Drop Zone – Week 13 Droppable Players

Are we sure this week even happened? The Broncos were forced into a zero-QB gameplan, PITvBAL is somehow happening and the Eagles covered the spread on a meaningless 2-point conversion. Most leagues have pushed waivers to Thursday to accommodate for the Wednesday game and allow matchups to complete, so I’m here to help you out!

Do you drop them or do you hold on to them? Should you fear their drop in usage? I’ll help you answer those! Every week I’ll be highlighting some players who are either losing opportunity on offense or underperforming based on their ownership percentage.

This can be used as a helpful way to decide on some players you can drop to waivers for the hot new items on the market. Maybe you’re on the fence about a bench player and seeing his name on this list will help you make that final decision!

I will only mention players with over 35% ownership because you can’t drop who you don’t have.

Let’s do this!

Will Fuller V – 96% Ownership

Well, this was fun. Fuller is now suspended for six games which spans the rest of this season through week 1 of the 2021 season and there are no signs of that changing. After an extremely helpful 35-point week in fantasy, Fuller is now being ripped out of our hands. It’s going to be a sad day seeing him leave the roster.

Travis Fulgham – 77% Ownership

Wow, what a fall from grace. I recall seeing debates about Fulgham being a top-24 WR in dynasty during his hot streak from weeks 4-8. Apparently the bye week destroyed Fulgham’s value along with this entire Eagles offense. He’s had a total of 7.2 fantasy points in the past three weeks combined. Yikes. The return of Dallas Goedert, Jalen Reagor, Alshon Jeffery, and soon Zach Ertz are taking huge bites into Fulgham’s usage and it shows. You can safely drop him to waivers.

Jerick McKinnon – 66% Ownership

The 49ers backfield is slowly regaining health. Raheem Mostert and Jeff Wilson both returned from IR this past week and left McKinnon to just five total touches compared to their 18 and 12 touches respectively. There are just more men in this backfield now and McKinnon is the lowest on the totem pole. I don’t see his usage getting rising to a fantasy-relevant level, at least now consistently. Personally, I dropped him last week but I believe this week is the right time to do it.

AJ Green – 62% Ownership

If I were keeping track (maybe I should?), I believe this is Green’s third appearance on Drop Zone. This was game number three of the 2020 season where Green failed to record a catch, giving his fantasy managers the dreaded 0 points and the second in three weeks. I can’t bring myself to start Green and with fantasy playoffs approaching I don’t want him on my roster. The injury to Joe Burrow is going to severely impact this offense moving forward and I believe Green only benefitted from the passing volume which has already dropped significantly. You’ll be okay without Green if you still own him.

Tyler Higbee – 44% Ownership

Aside from his week two game with three touchdowns, Higbee has mostly been a disappointment to fantasy owners who are still starting him. To be fair, the tight end position in total has been a disappointment. That doesn’t mean you should hold on to Higbee, though. Higbee has seen his usage drop from 83% of snaps in week 10 to just 61% in week 12. There’s very little potential in starting him lately and is incredibly hard to trust in your lineups. Higbee can be dropped.

Other guys I’m dropping

Emmanuel Sanders Taysom Hill is not helping this passing offense and Sanders is suffering from it.

Darrell Henderson – He’s falling on this RB depth chart as each week passes.
