It’s week two of fantasy playoffs! Did you advance? I really hope you did. If you’re making waiver claims this week it most likely means you’re still fighting for something, whether it’s first place or staying away from claiming last. My philosophy for the playoffs is to bolster your team with high-upside and high-floor players. Most of these players I’ll list below have been at their floor these past few weeks and they’ll just hurt you moving forward.
Do you drop them or do you hold on to them? Should you fear their drop in usage? I’ll help you answer those! Every week I’ll be highlighting some players who are either losing opportunity on offense or underperforming based on their ownership percentage.
This can be used as a helpful way to decide on some players you can drop to waivers for the hot new items on the market. Maybe you’re on the fence about a bench player and seeing his name on this list will help you make that final decision!
I will only mention players with over 35% ownership because you can’t drop who you don’t have.
Let’s do this!
Devin Singletary – 70% Ownership
In a big game on Sunday night, the Bills seemed to find Zack Moss more useful than Devin Singletary as Moss had almost twice as many touches as Singletary. This Bills team seems to love throwing the ball ever since Josh Allen decided to be a top-tier QB. Singletary hasn’t found the end zone since week 4 and has only been on the field for over 50% of snaps once since week 8. There’s not a lot of high fantasy point potential in Singletary’s role on this offense, or in this backfield in general. Staying true to my high-floor/high-upside in the playoffs rule, I’m dropping Singletary if need be. Unless I’m truly hurting at RB he’s not touching my starting lineup and that’s worthy of a drop.
Darrell Henderson – 69% Ownership
Unless the 15.4 points two weeks ago tricked you into holding on to Darrell Henderson, the .5 point performance this week and the HUGE emergence of Cam Akers should be the sign you need. Just two touches in a blowout game against the Patriots is not worthy of a playoff roster spot.
Travis Fulgham – 49% Ownership
I get it, you wanted to see how he would perform with a more competent QB in charge. Unfortunately, Travis Fulgham struggled to even record a target from Jalen Hurts against the Saints. Yikes. If you’re still riding the high of the wonderful month of Fulgham, it’s time to step down. I’d rather own a backup DST or kicker than Fulgham.
Drop Zone returnees that I’m still dropping
Jerick McKinnon – 54% Ownership (An increase in ownership???)
Henry Ruggs – 53% Ownership
Mark Ingram – 46% Ownership
