You have to make the big decision to sign someone new on waivers this week, but picking someone up means you have to drop someone you currently own. It’s a decision that needs to be made every week.
Shake off the dead weight and make the most of your bench. Do you drop them or do you hold on to them? Is their usage dropping as the weeks go on? Every week I’ll be highlighting some players who are either losing opportunity on offense or underperforming based on their roster percentage.
This can be used as a helpful way to decide on some players you can drop to waivers for the hot new items on the market. Maybe you’re on the fence about a bench player and seeing his name on this list will help you make that final decision!
I will only mention players with over 35% roster percentage because you can’t drop who you don’t have.
Let’s do this!
Nyheim Hines – 57.6% Roster Percentage
First off, I wish you good luck trying to figure out which weeks Nyheim Hines will score 10+ fantasy points. Second, he just isn’t being used. In the past three weeks, Hines has had 10 touches, 5 targets, and 6.1 PPR points COMBINED. He’s not helping you out in fantasy while Jonathan Taylor gradually proves why he should completely own this backfield.
Jalen Reagor – 43.6%
Reagor put up a solid 0 point performance against one of the worst passing defenses. I’m not sure if there needs to be any more to be said. He isn’t being targeted much in this offense (9 in the past three weeks) to warrant a roster spot and is just not helping your team. You can find someone better on the wire.
Jonnu Smith – 53.8%
Two targets in each of the past two weeks. Compare that to Hunter Henry’s 10 total and 2 TDs in the same span and you can really pinpoint who the TE1 is in New England. It took a few weeks but there’s finally a definitive answer to which TE to roster from this team and it’s not Jonnu Smith.
Drop Zone Returnees – Players I am STILL dropping
Robert Tonyan – Just do it.
Ronald Jones – As long as he is above 35% roster %, he will be here.
Houston RBs – You can drop them all.
