Week 2 Streaming Defense Options – Defensive Detours

As we enter week 2 of the NFL season and you have to make yet another starting DST decision, I’m here to help point out a few teams that may still be on waivers.

I’ll be highlighting DSTs that may still be available in your leagues, the ones that weren’t signed on waivers. These are DSTs that are still below a 35% in roster percentage on ESPN that I feel are startable if you’re still searching.

These options are only for the teams who didn’t pick someone up on waivers this week and still need a startable DST for week 2. Maybe you started the Carolina Panthers DST last week and now realize the New Orleans Saints offense is a lot more established than we thought and want to pivot No worries, I’ve got you covered.

This week is pretty light and I should have more options other weeks. With 12 teams above 50% ownership and most of the remaining options facing good offenses, it becomes a lot harder to find DST value that I feel comfortable telling you to start

My projections are based on Vegas odds, defensive and offensive player projections, starters, and positional matchups. These are your defensive detours!

DSTs Under 35% Roster %

GB Packers – 22.7%

Opponent – DET

A classic Monday Night Football DST to help you keep your competition in question until then, I love it! The Green Bay Packers face a Detroit Lions team that Vegas implies will score the third-least points in the NFL this week. The Packers got embarrassed by the New Orleans Saints this past week and I expect a bounce-back performance in week 2. This is also a Lions team that could be without their top receiver in Tyrell Williams, playing with a WR group that is one of the least experienced in the league. I don’t see a lot of points coming from Detroit and that’s typically what I look for in a DST matchup.

CHI Bears – 10%

Opponent – CIN

The Cincinnati Bengals allowed Joe Burrow to be sacked five times against the Minnesota Vikings defense. That same Vikings defense went on to finish the week as the 13th highest scoring DST despite giving up 29 points, mostly attributed to those sacks. Add in that this game is being played in Chicago and has a low 45.5 O/U, Chicago becomes a solid start at defense this week.
