It’s week 3 of the NFL season and week 3 of your fantasy football leagues. Are you still searching for that DST to start this week?
I’ll be highlighting DSTs that may still be available in your leagues, the ones that weren’t signed on waivers. These are DSTs that are still below a 35% in roster percentage on ESPN that I feel are startable if you’re still searching.
These options are only for the teams who didn’t pick someone up on waivers this week and still need a startable DST for week 3. Your waivers may look barren and the top options are off the board, but I’ve got a few teams that may still be hanging around on your waivers.
My projections are based on Vegas odds, defensive and offensive player projections, starters, and positional matchups. These are your defensive detours!
DSTs Under 35% Roster %
LV Raiders – 12.1%
Opponent – MIA
The Dolphins were held to 0 points last week against the Bills. Granted, the Bills have a pretty solid defense, but the Dolphins also lost Tua Tagovailoa during the game. With Tagovailoa already being called out for this week’s game against the Raiders, I think that boosts this defense into startable territory. But high up there, I definitely want to start the Raiders defense this week. With an expected team total of 20 points from Vegas, the Dolphins aren’t going to be a team that will score a lot this week. Start the Raiders DST.
TEN Titans – 4%
Opponent – IND
When there are reports that the Colts may be playing both Brett Hundley and Jacob Eason at QB this week, the Titans become a great desperation play at DST. Vegas currently has the Colts to score 21.5 this week, which is close enough to the under 20 team total that I also look for in DST streamers. I think we get a Colts team this week that struggles and the Titans benefit.
DSTs Under 50% Roster %
CAR Panthers – 46.8%
Opponent – HOU
The DST start of the week plays on Thursday Night. ACT FAST AND GET THEM BEFORE IT’S TOO LATE. The Panthers are currently the third-highest scoring DST in fantasy this season and face a backup QB on a team that isn’t all too great to begin with. The Texans are playing Thursday night with rookie QB Davis Mills and Vegas has them slotted to score the second-lowest points this week with 17.5. Play the Panthers in this matchup as they’ve got a serious chance at being the top DST this week.
