It’s week 6 of the NFL season and week 6 of your fantasy football leagues. Are you still searching for that DST to start this week?
I’ll be highlighting DSTs that may still be available in your leagues, the ones that weren’t signed on waivers. These are DSTs that are still below a 35% in roster percentage on ESPN that I feel are startable if you’re still searching.
These options are only for the teams who didn’t pick someone up on waivers this week and still need a startable DST for the week. Your waivers may look barren and the top options are off the board, but I’ve got a few teams that may still be hanging around on your waivers.
My projections are based on Vegas odds, defensive and offensive player projections, starters, and positional matchups. These are your defensive detours!
Defenses Under 35% Roster Percentage
MIN Vikings – 31.5%
Opponent – CHI
Another week, another Vikings stream. The Carolina Panthers have struggled since McCaffrey has been hurt and he’s expected to miss this week as well. Last week the Vikings were the DST5 on the week and I see them putting up another top-10 DST performance, which is great for a team you can still find on waivers. Vegas has this matchup as a low-scoring game for Carolina and I agree. Let’s fire up these Vikings one last time before their bye week!
Defenses Under 50% Roster Percentage
GB Packers – 44.9%
Opponent – CHI
The Packers DST has just been meh this season, but they face an offense that’s been pretty slow to score lately. Chicago has an expected score of 19.25 this coming week from Vegas and I would be willing to bet that they score less than that with both DavidMontgomery out and Damien Williams on the COVID list. This team isn’t a super pass-heavy offense and with their top-two RBs out I’m willing to play their opposing DST – the Green Bay Packers.
If You’re Feeling Dangerous
JAX Jaguars – 4.0%
Opponent – MIA
If you’re feeling dangerous this week, it’s not a terrible idea to play the Jaguars DST in London. Not only do you add a roster spot to root for in the early game, but you get to start a DST that could have a decent game. The Miami Dolphins are expected to start Tua Tagovailoa but will be playing without one of their top WRs in DeVante Parker (or top-two WRs if you include Will Fuller’s injury). Miami has struggled to score in recent weeks and even though they get their QB1 back, a trip to London never helps an offense. Expect a low-scoring game and a DST with a decent floor in Jacksonville.
